Honestly, I was being a bit glib, but the point stands that if I'd had secured a decent investment before I opened, I'd have had a much less stressful experience overall. I'd have been able to hire more staff, easily pay for stock, not worry so much about the 15th slow weekend in a row, and I'd have been able to make all the changes to the building that I wanted to do. I'm proud of what we achieved but the truth is that we shut because we couldn't afford to stay open.
